The Child Safety Awareness website is proudly produced by Media Trust and has been providing safety advice and tips to the general community for free for over 10 years.

Pedestrian Safety
Young children do not have the necessary skills to stay safe in traffic. Children are too short to see past parked cars and are often spontaneous. Drivers find it difficult to see children in traffic. There are programs which aim to teach children about pedestrian safety. It is a good idea for parents and carers of children to teach children good traffic safety habits early.

 Anyone is welcome to report any criminal activity which threatens child safety. Crime Stoppers welcomes information on freecall 1800 333 000. A caller should share specific crime details (Who did what to whom, where and when?) Callers do not need to give their name. Telephones at the Crime Stoppers call centre do not reveal call numbers. Calls are not taped. Crime Stoppers does not trace calls. They are only interested in the information which comes forward. Details are then passed to police for follow-up investigation.
